“With regards to SMRT added 1,110 train rides per week, we should note that these additional train rides were gradually added over the last two and a half years or so. Moreover, 1,110 train rides per week may mean an average of about 159 train rides per day. If the average train ride carries about 1,000 passengers, the increase in capacity per day may only be about 159,000.“

“Sometimes, a few trains come one after the other in one- or two-minute gaps, after which there is a longer gap of three to five minutes before the next train arrives. Because of this unequal frequency, the last trains in the first batch have fewer passengers, while the first trains in the next batch are overly crowded. It would be useful if the frequency of services was adjusted so every train carries an optimum commuter load.

I (writer) also think that the number of grab-poles in the carriages is minimal – there is one row on either side or just one row in the middle. I do not know if this is one reason why passengers often choose to stay near the doors. To make people move towards the centre, more grab-pole rows may be required.“

• Crowd congestions at MRT platforms – may lead to potential safety hazards
• Overcrowding and squeezing in trains, leading to uncomfortable experiences
• Heavily packed trains occurring especially during peak hours, and most people would gather around the area in which they came up from, or towards the area in which there would be a nearby escalator at their destinations.
• Peak Hours – Working/ Schooling hours. According to SMRT, Monday to Friday, between 8 to 9 am and 5.15 to 6.30 pm, Saturday, between 8.15 to 9 am and 1 to 2.30 pm.
• Notably a higher level of congestion at platforms such as Jurong East, City Hall, Dhoby Ghaut etc…or at most stations where it is easier to switch lines.
• Long and infrequent train intervals.

Current Solutions

• Cabins with no seats, more spacious, supposedly easier to board and alight
• More trains during peak hours

Other Solutions

• Dispatching of more trains at higher frequencies, especially during peak hours
• Reduce waiting duration
• Enable removable seats for more space
• Instead of 6 – 8 minutes interval, reduce it to 1 min (eg, Hong Kong)
• Extension of peak hour timings

We have been trying for years to get kids to eat their vegetables, now we have the solution. Sometimes it lies not in just what the food tastes like, but whether the appearance invites us. Fine dining demonstrates one such example.

The PIRIT Heated Hose($189) connects to your water line like any other garden hose; however it also has an electrical plug that can be connected to any outdoor rated GFCI outlet. Once plugged-in, aa built-in thermostat is set to activate the heating element (copper wire) inside the hose line when the ambient temperature outside the hose is below 95F, and automatically shuts it off when the temperature rises above 105F. Utility Line was specifically engineered to withstand the cold and even if hose is left to freeze with water inside. Additionally, the Heated Hose Utility Line can be used without water to simply radiate heat, helping to prevent frost damage to plants, or melt surrounding snow.

Integrity

The purpose may not be as significant in Singapore as compared to colder countries, but a heated water sprinkler can mean saving you the trouble from scrapping the chunk of frozen ice off your windshield to melting the ice accumulated on your walk way. Not to disappoint summer audiences, warm water can also benefit in cleaning as it is more efficient against oily substance. No more worries of cleaning up persistent stains after a BBQ session.

This simple trick in the bag can help with many things especially in the winter. Things that we would usually take hours and an overwhelming amount of manual labour to finish up, e.g. shovelling snow and cleaning stains. Although more of a luxury, it is an incredible tool to own that can speed up your outdoor cleaning. Like, no more buckets/shovels!

Things often get lost under the sofa. It’s ordinary for a coin which slipped out of your pocket, or a never-to-be-found remote to be accidentally found in between/underneath the sofa cushions. Maybe you’ll find a forgotten 10,000yen bill that you once hid there…
 

Integrity

No longer to to place things on the floor, or reach out for a table surface. This can also help me slot my favorite book with its pages open so I won’t need a bookmark and I can pick it up easy, as it’s right next to me. Keeps things at reachable distance.

Creativity

A very interesting idea, sometimes it may come off as a pointless design, but if you’re an experienced couch potato, it’s an instant recognition of the great advantages it can bring. The convenience of having things at arms length, is itself, convenient. Someone should build a sofa-fridge soon. heheheehehehe.

Quality

Sometimes I just wished there were holders or slots for me to store my phone while I am sitting on the couch. I hate to have to always lean forward and leave things all over the floor around the sofa. Well not anymore. With this sofa, I can slot almost all the things I need to keep around me, on the sofa!

Helps by saving space in the household. It can also promote tidiness and efficient use of space, at the same time reducing the number of obstructions during cleaning.

Creativity

This draws very interesting attention, the retractable tables and chairs are a very smart move in space conservation. This invention can allow a variety of different settings for the household kitchen depending on the needs at that time.

Quality

For some countries like Hong Kong and Singapore, space is very precious. Some of us live in very compact and tight apartments, and space is very limited. But with this invention, not only can we save up on space for other purposes, it can also help when it comes to cleaning.

Now thats spooky. And to make it more spooky, we add LEGS TO IT! Whats more spooky than a face in a dustbin, chasing after you when all you wanted was to dispose your waste? Comes with stubby legs now! Heres a weird adaptation of the scenario.

Many of you would find it strange why I like this. It just reminds me of transformers! Doesn’t it? the way that grasshopper looked, its like it’s going to transform any moment! *waits…*

Ok anyways, since transformation is the reason why i find it adorable*uh hmm*, well I shall make it even more adorable! By making a costume out of it(is being more realistic here instead of making a robot)! Fit something CUTE into it, and it becomes adorable x2. The outcome would look something like this(i cant find a grasshopper costume, so we gotta make do):
